Celebrating Diversity!

“Diversity is not about differences among groups, but rather about differences among individuals. “

This programme aims to instil openness and inclusiveness by participants embracing their own uniqueness. Aquitude believes that by understanding their personal uniqueness and what they stand for, participants more openly accept and assume others’ differences. A purely bespoke programme, the delivery techniques used are varied: from team-based facilitation to Forum Theatre techniques. The key fundamentals include:

  • Celebrating Differences: embracing inclusiveness by building respect for people with varied backgrounds and beliefs; walking in each other’s shoes; understanding that differences, like mistakes, are a ground for learning
  • Eliminating Discrimination: removing conscious and subconscious negative attitudes and behaviours which damage morale and productivity; analysis of existing assumptions and stereotyping; removal of power differentials.
  • Building Bridges: appreciating differences by sharing commonalities
  • Be proud! understanding their own personal uniqueness and standing tall; being proud to be different!
  • Creativity comes from new inspirations: challenging the status quo and the way things are done through new ways of thinking; turning potential conflict into innovation.
  • How can I make a difference? Participants to be empowered to become ambassadors of Diversity with their own personal action plan in implementing their strengthened positive behaviours.

Participants will leave with:

  • Insight into own personal values and how they align with Diversity
  • Understanding of any personal barriers and limitations to embracing diversity and inclusiveness
  • Appreciation of commonalities between distinct genders, cultures, races, beliefs
  • Hands-on experience of the power of assumptions and stereotyping and the impact on professional relationships
  • Renewed pride in their own personal strengths and confidence to embody and utilise them
  • Experience in leveraging differences to increase innovation and creativity in working with others
  • Implementation of a Learning approach by understanding that differences can be a resource for learning and growth, resulting in innovative problem-solving
  • Drawing on cultural experiences to enrich, deepen and broaden the organisation’s approach to its work, its clients, its business
