Effective influencing is
core to personal and professional success. This is a highly
practical and interactive programme, covering:
Influencing DNA
- My Influencing DNA:
How do I influence others? What are my unique strengths?
When do I feel comfortable or uncomfortable?
- Effective
Influencers: How do we rate Effective Influencers? Why are
they effective? What makes them stand out?
- Understanding
Influencing in the Business: the main types of influencing
and contexts; understanding our Circle of Influence and
techniques on how this can be extended and maintained
Being the Graceful
Challenger
Communication is a two
way stream. To be an effective influencer requires a level of
awareness of the other person’s communication style, motives and
needs. Addressing the practical application of influencing
skills in the workplace and giving participants the opportunity
to learn how to manage challenging conversations:
- Learning how to get
your message across: harnessing the power of language and
the impact it has on others
- Impactful
communication: filtering the message; how others perceive
and interpret messages; strategies for identifying ways to
make distinct and clear messages understood
- “Saying No…” and “I
want/need…”: The key tenets to assertiveness; participants
to work with a real-life “challenging” situation, gaining
confidence whilst embracing assertiveness
- Holding a
respectful dialogue: using the Positive Critique Protocol as
a feedback and communications framework; actively engaging
in difficult conversations without fear: preparation;
avoiding getting caught off-guard, planned and ad hoc
challenging situations, key steps to managing the process,
taking a step back and rationalising.
Participants will leave
