meet ict disruption

Meet ICT will be staged in Bahrain from the 19th to the 21st of March. Aquitude will be in attendance for the Conference and will deliver a specially designed workshop on Day 3 of the Event.

Building on the success of the Bahrain Ecommerce Academy, and the establishment of an Ecommerce consulting and digital marketing office in the Kingdom, Aquitude is continuing its investment in helping businesses with the challenging but essential processes of Digital Transformation.

Exclusive Meet ICT Workshop.
“Disruptive Data. How the Nexus of IoT, AI and Data will transform Business and Business Models.”

Delivered by Christina Ioannidis, CEO of Aquitude, who commented on the themes of the workshop…

“The next Careem or AirBnB or Amazon for your industry has already launched. You need to determine your readiness and capabilities, identify gaps and risks and put a plan in place to ensure your success.

Unfortunately, while some companies are still trying to get there head around being digital, the digital companies have moved on to using a combination of Data, Machine Learning and IoT to completely change business models and create disruption.”

The ‘nexus’ of IoT, Data and Machine learning, combined with technologies like 5G are giving companies with the leadership strength to invest in change a competitive advantage. It’s not just the way products are designed and priced – concepts of ownership are also being challenged.

Many people are used to the idea of ‘Software as a Service’ or SaaS. We used to buy our applications on CD-ROM or DVD and there was a physical element to what we were purchasing. Now we are comfortable with software being provided via the cloud as a download or a subscription.

This concept is being applied to all kinds of things – from Aircraft Engines to Industrial plant and machinery. ‘Everything as a Service’ or XaaS means that assets could be owned by pension funds and ‘rented’ by the hour based on usage.

These topics and more will be covered in depth in the Aquitude workshop at Meet ICT.
